An Egyptian teenager was found drowned off the coast of the Gaza Strip, near an Israeli settlement, and his body has been recovered by Palestinians, an Egyptian security official said Wednesday.
Egyptian police added that the 18-year-old victim, Soliman Mustafa Ali al-Ghandur, had tried to swim from Egypt to the Gaza Strip to join the Palestinian people in their fight against the Israelis.
The Palestinians on Tuesday found Ghandur's body some 400 meters off the coast of Gaza, near the Jewish settlement of Rafih Yam, a security official in the Egyptian border town of Rafah said.
The Egyptian's body has been taken to the morgue at Nasser hospital in Khan Yunis, before it is shipped back to Egypt, according to the official who asked to remain anonymous, AFP said. (Albawaba.com)
