ALBAWABA - Recent reports by Politico reveal discreet discussions taking place between Israel and the U.S., exposing rifts in their diplomatic relations. The Biden administration, according to unnamed sources within the U.S. government, has allegedly set a year-end ultimatum for the cessation of hostilities in Gaza.

Concurrently, there is a pressing call for the opening of the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing to facilitate essential humanitarian aid.

Sources, identified as three U.S. officials, disclose that President Biden has imposed a deadline for concluding the Gaza conflict. Politico suggests that Secretary of State Antony Blinken underscored this specified deadline during his visit to Israel on November 30.

In response to Israel's presentation of a 'months-long plan,' Secretary Blinken is said to have retorted with a succinct, 'You don't have that much credit,' indicating a level of skepticism.A prior Wall Street Journal report had quoted Blinken advocating for the swift conclusion of attacks within weeks, not months.

Furthermore, Politico outlines an additional request from the Biden administration to Israel. The U.S. government is reportedly urging the opening of a second border to amplify the flow of humanitarian assistance. Discussions involving U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan allegedly encompass the plea for the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing's reopening.

The crossing, situated at the nexus of Gaza, Egypt, and Israel, is purportedly met with Israeli resistance, citing security concerns as a barrier to its reopening.
