Young Moroccan athlete Adil El Kaouch, born in 1979 in Ksar El Kיbir, won silver medal in men's 1500 meters on Wednesday August 10 in the ongoing 10th IAFF Athletics World Championship. After the silver medal that Hasna Benhassi won in women's 800 meters on Tuesday, Adil El Kaouch brought the second silver medal for Morocco.
In 1500 men's meters Adil El Kaouch crossed the finish line after 3:38.00 while the gold medal went to Bahraini Rachid Ramzi who headed the race finishing in 3min 37.88 seconds. Portuguese Rui Silva finished third (3 min 38.02 sec) in the race. La Presse notes that Adil El Kaouch was also the Champion of the IAAF world juniors in Annecy in 1998.
