The second edition of GETEX Abu Dhabi (Global Education & Training Exhibition) will bring together some of the world’s leading providers of quality education, human resource training and innovative education technology solutions at the Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers, Abu Dhabi from November 24 to 26, 2006.
GETEX Abu Dhabi seeks primarily to optimise study options to the spring intake of international universities. The spring intake is a lesser known admission option, with most students targeting the autumn intake. In fact, with most international universities offering two intakes of admissions – in autumn and in spring – the show opens up a second opportunity for students who might have missed the autumn intake.
“The exhibition will bring reputed academic institutions from the GCC and favoured education destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, the European Union, New Zealand, Switzerland, India and Malaysia under one roof, helping students choose the best courses of study right here in Abu Dhabi,” said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of GETEX.
GETEX Abu Dhabi will emphasise particularly on higher education courses in management, medicine, information technology and e-learning and will highlight new methods of study including real time e-learning solutions that will be promoted by various exhibitors.
Given the increased usage of technological tools to upgrade infrastructures and improve education delivery systems, GETEX Abu Dhabi will host a special segment for Education Technology, Equipment, Services and Supply where cutting-edge solutions will be showcased for the region’s managements, end-buyers, dealers and importers.
Similarly, the segment devoted to Human Resource and Training will focus on emerging trends and methodologies in specialist training programmes aimed at helping Abu Dhabi’s corporate organisations improve their employees’ performance and professionals enhance career prospects, especially in the regional petrochemicals and energy sector.
Held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, GETEX Abu Dhabi 2006 will also feature free academic, life choices and career counselling workshops for the UAE National and expatriate student communities in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
The Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) is the largest education fair in the Middle East region. Organised by International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), GETEX held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education as well as the support of Dubai Knowledge Village, the region’s biggest ensemble of institutes of higher education, and the British Council in Dubai.
The second edition of GETEX Abu Dhabi will be held this year at the Rotana Beach Hotel & Towers, seeking to explore the potential of the education sector in the capital. The event is expected to attract participation from more than 100 leading educational institutions from 10 countries across the world, in addition to thousands of students, parents, teachers and education professionals.
