A Saudi Arabian detained at the US military base in Guantanamo Bay told his family during a phone conversation this week that he had spent his time learning the Koran by heart, according to a newspaper report Friday.
Asharq Al-Awsat quoted the father of the detainee as saying his 25-year-old son, Abu Saud, had called them at their home in Mecca.
"He said he was well and had learned the Koran by heart," the father said, and added, "My son also told us that the detainees had limited freedom of movement and could attend to their devotions." (Albawaba.com)
