ALBAWABA - Following their storming of the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco, the police department arrested 70 protestors who launched their demonstration in support of the people of Gaza against the Israeli brutal aggression.

The International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network said in an Instagram post that 100 people had joined the protest on Monday, during which demonstrators staged a sit-in in the hallway of the building housing the Israeli diplomatic mission.

"Zionism kills. Today, we heed the call from Palestine to escalate and bring our resistance against genocide into the Zionist embassies and consulates of the world" the post reads.

"We have come to the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco, itself on occupied Indigenous land, to remind the world that the Zionist occupation of Palestine is neither sacrosanct, impenetrable, nor inevitable" the group continued.

One protester told the San Francisco Chronicle that the sit-in was necessary because "these kinds of devastating and catastrophic times of genocide require strong action". Activists told reporters that they planned to occupy the consulate until they were forcibly removed.

Just after midday, the group was being held by police. Outside the premises, protestors were seen being loaded into police vehicles by officers as their hands were restrained with zip ties.

Police spokesperson Paulina Henderson stated that "officers announced multiple warnings to the individuals to disperse and exit the private property on their own accord" in an email to the media source Jweekly.

"Officers developed probable cause to arrest 70 suspects who refused to vacate the building," the source stated.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 36,550+ people, with more than 82,959+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
