Samsung Electronics, a market leader in consumer electronics, is sending a high-level delegation of top executives to be present during GITEX 2006 in Dubai.
This announcement closely follows Samsung Electronics’ plans to unveil an innovative array of AV, IT and mobile products at GITEX 2006.
Leading the team will be Chi Won Suh, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Middle East and Africa Headquarters; Koo Yeun Choi, Vice President-Visual Display Division; Seungsoo Park, Vice President-Digital AV Division; David G. Steel, Vice President-Marketing - Digital Media Business; Hyun Jong Park, General Manager Digital Printing Division and Jae-hoon Kim, VP- Display (Monitors) Sales and Marketing for Visual Display Division.
Speaking on the arrival of the high-profile team, Chi Won Suh said, “This region, and especially Dubai, is a very important and strategic market for the growth and future of Samsung. After last year’s GITEX success, our top global executives decided to personally spearhead this year’s event, especially as we are introducing new products and technologies in a market that is growing rapidly. They would also be instrumental in strengthening our existing business relationships as well as forge new ones.”
Suh was recently appointed to take charge of all aspects of the company’s business in the Middle East and Africa region. He started his career with Samsung, held several senior positions and has lead different business divisions across a number of geographies.
Koo Yeun Choi is Vice President of the Visual Display Division for Samsung Electronics’ Digital Media Business and has an extensive background in projection televisions with Samsung. At present he will be focusing on the development and deployment of premium-image technologies in the market.
Seungsoo Park has worked his way in the marketing and product-planning department of Samsung Electronics since 1982, and after a wide variety of success in the strategic and planning areas, is currently in charge of marketing for the Digital AV Division of Samsung Electronics.
David Steel heads the Marketing Team in the Digital Media Business that has approximately $18bn of sales in consumer electronics and IT products. He has developed strategic relationships with leading retailers of electronic products, driven marketing alliances for high-definition contents and is in charge of DM division’s communications activities, such as media relations, international tradeshows, on-line marketing and investor relations.
Hyun Jong Park is a veteran in Samsung and is assigned to the Digital Printing Division to serve the Middle East and Africa, South East Asia and Australian market. His major responsibility is strengthening channel relationships and maximizing investment for printing business in the region.
Jae Hoon Kim is Vice President for the Display Sales & Marketing team for the Visual Display Division. A Samsung veteran, he has been in charge of the LCD monitor product planning team, devised marketing strategies for the company’s major regions across the world, established customer relations management approaches, has investigated related product development, and been a vocal promoter for Best Practices throughout Samsung’s vast global network.
The presence of such big names from Samsung will provide a tremendous leverage for the consumer giant at GITEX 2006 as the company unveils an innovative array of AV, IT and mobile products. This is also representative of the global management increasingly giving top priority to GITEX in their business calendar.
GITEX has grown since its inception to currently stand as the undisputed leader in technology retailing in the Middle East and its success has been doubling ever since. The 26th edition is scheduled to be held from 18-24 November 2006 at the Airport Expo Dubai.
With more than 120,000 buyers expected to attend this action packed high-energy event, the exhibition will see approximately 150 vendors, distributors and resellers battling it out with their latest launches, best deals and spectacular promotions, all under one roof.
