Sakhr Software Co. recently decided to take on a new approach for making IBSAR, the innovative program specifically designed for blind and vision-impaired individuals, within the reach of blind and vision-impaired students, and individuals with limited income.

This new approach means that Sakhr will offering IBSAR for an annual rent of only US$500. This opens up new horizons for this new segment of users – particularly those who cannot afford to pay US$1500 to purchase this program outright – and will allow them to enjoy, and make use of, the many exceptional benefits of this extraordinary program.

“By implementing this approach, we are able to place the latest in computer technology right at the fingertips of a large segment of the blind / vision-impaired who wish to enter the world of modern knowledge,” commented Jihad Salman, Group Product Manager, Sakhr Software. He added, “This means that this new segment of users will be able to make optimum use of their PC’s operating system, and other applications such as Microsoft office, Internet browser, email programs, even games and entertainment software.”

IBSAR is a comprehensive solution designed to enable the blind / vision-impaired to make full use of their PC - read and write text, browse the internet, send and receive emails – with great ease and simplicity. IBSAR is based on NLP (Natural Language Processing), particularly Sakhr’s TTS technologies (Text-to-Speech) which converts written text into audible speech. Using IBSAR a blind / vision-impaired person can easily read any Arabic or English web page on the internet.

“Sakhr’s IBSAR offer is not limited to individuals. Organizations, associations, schools and any other establishments involved with the blind / vision-impaired in any Arab country can benefit from this special approach,” Salman said. He explained that this approach is very simple and uncomplicated, and motivates Sakhr to continue to push forward, striving for more advancement and more modernization.

The rental process is simple and uncomplicated, offering users access to the latest unlimited versions of IBSAR, all features included, for a whole year – during this time users will be able to increase their knowledge, make optimum use of their PC’s, browse the Internet, read their email, and generally become more skillful in using and discovering IBSAR’s capabilities. At the end of the year, users can choose either to renew the rent for another year or to purchase IBSAR; after four years of continuous rental, users will own an original copy of IBSAR.

This new offer will specifically benefit those who find the price a little prohibitive, as is the case with most blind individuals. There are no statistics concerning the blind and the vision-impaired in Arab countries and which give an indication of their income levels, however, international studies indicate that 1% of the world’s population is blind and that most are poor. It is estimated that there are 7million blind / vision-impaired people in the Arab World.
