Sahara Centre has invited children from the Sharjah Humanitarian Services to mark its special day for children. A favourite shopping and entertainment destination for families, the mall has dedicated this special day to highlight the needs of special children.

The children, aged 10 to 12, enjoyed participating in the games and entertainment programmes at Fun Factory. They also had a wonderful time at the multi-level train and water flume ride in the mall’s huge play zone, Adventureland.

Sameer, 12 years old, was one of those who laughed heartily all throughout the ride. He was always among the first to line up for a ride, and of those to lovingly shout to ask for one more. He gamely participated in the entertainment program provided by Fun Factory.

The children then proceeded to a sumptuous lunch, where Sahara Centre’s executive team led by General Manager Dean John and Marketing Manager Rima Chammas gave away nicely-wrapped gifts as a remembrance of the children’s fun-filled day in the mall.

Sharjah Humanitarian Services Assitant Manager Abeer Shawqi expressed her gratitude to Sahara Centre for organising the programme. “Thank you for the support. A day like this helps in the integration programmes that we do for these children. And play is a form of therapy as well so what the children experienced today will go a long way towards enhancing the healing process they are currently going through. We appreciate the gesture and we hope this will inspire other people and companies to support our programmes.”

The Sharjah Humanitarian Services is actively involved in looking after the welfare of people with challenges by providing care, training, education, as well as rehabilitation and integration services.

“Sahara Centre takes its corporate social responsibility (CSR) seriously and one of the best ways by which we can make a difference is through supporting children’s welfare programmes. We have supported a number of charitable institutions in the past and we will continue to do so because children and families have a special place in our hearts,” said Dean John, General Manager, Sahara Centre.

In addition to the Sharjah Humanitarian Services, Sahara Centre also supports School of Creative Science Charity Bazaar Day and individual donations to different charities as part of its ongoing CSR programme.
