ALBAWABA - Russia refuses the idea to deploy foreign troops in Ukraine "in any format", the spokesperson of the Russian foreign ministry stated Thursday.

"Russia is not going to discuss the fundamentally unacceptable, undermining any kind of security, foreign intervention in Ukraine in any form, in any format", Maria Zakharova said.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that the deployment of a post-conflict security force would be "fundamentally unacceptable".

The announcement by Russia came ahead of a planned meeting in Paris between European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of Zelensky's office, Zelensky is set to hold talks with President of the European Commission Von der Leyen, Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, and Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK, in the French capital, Paris.

He said, "There are two parallel processes underway. The first is a situational attempt to stop the war, with the United States and personally, Donald Trump playing the main role. The second is the construction of Europe’s postwar architecture."
