ALBAWABA - In the most recent move of escalation,  Moscow launched an intercontinental ballistic missile toward Ukraine for the first time Thursday, according to Kyiv. This was the most recent escalation of the conflict.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian soldiers deployed the missile in an early-morning raid on the city of Dnipro. However, a source told AFP that this was the first time Moscow had used the weapon since the 2022 invasion.

A Ukrainian Air Force source confirmed to AFP that the missile was deployed for the first time since the Kremlin launched its assault.

The insider also stated that it was "obvious" that the missile, which is intended to carry both conventional and nuclear warheads, did not have a nuclear payload.

When asked if Moscow fired the missile, which can reach targets thousands of kilometres distant, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said he had "nothing to say on this topic."
