Russian deputy foreign minister Alexander Saltanov will embark on a Middle East and Gulf tour in the coming few days, Itar-Tass news agency quoted Arab diplomats in Moscow as saying on Wednesday.
Tass said the talks Saltanov will hold with officials of the visited countries would concentrate on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Saltanov led the Russian delegation at the consultations for the Middle East settlement that were held last week in Washington.
The sources said the tour would take Saltanov to Saudi Arabia and probably Baghdad, where the possibility of resuming Iraq’s cooperation with the UN will be discussed. (Albawaba.com)
