Russia, Algeria to Cooperate in Energy Field

Russia and Algeria have agreed to enhance their cooperation in the fields of oil and energy, reported the Russian news agency Novosty on Monday.  

The agreement was reached in meeting in Algeria between OPEC President Khalil Chekib, Algeria's minister of energy and mines, and Russian Deputy Energy Minister Alexei Miller.  

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Algerian state-owned oil and gas company, Sonatrakh, and the Russian corporations, Lukoil, Gazprom and Stroitransgaz.  

The two sides agreed to set up ad hoc groups, which will meet biannually, with the session venues to be Moscow and Algeria, alternately – Albawaba.com
