Under the patronage of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, The Wazir’s district team won the overall tournament champion at the Red Bull beach Soccer organized for the 1st time in Saudi Arabia which was held on May 20, 21, and 22 October in Riyadh.
Spectators flooded the stadium at the Al Tawaoon playfield in Al Ouraija district to watch eight teams from various Saudi neighbourhood competing at the 1st Beach Soccer organized by Red Bull in Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the event, Prince Abdul Aziz said: “We witnessed today the will of the Saudi Youth to practice Untraditional sports on a professional level especially with the facilities available for them in Saudi Arabia, and we really appreciate Red Bull’s role in organizing the 1st beach soccer tournament in Saudi Arabia”.
On the first day of play, Al Malaz, Al Badia, Al Wazir, Ouraija teams knocked out the Al Souweidi, al Shifa, Al Azizia, and Al Nassim. The spectators enjoyed the second day the competitions between the classified 4 teams to secure spots in the Red Bull Beach Soccer tournament semi-finals.
Final rankings in the Red Bull Beach Soccer Tournament are as follows:
1st Place – Al Wazir
2nd Place – Al Malaz
3rd Place – Al Ouraija
4th Place – Al Badia
