Karl Rove, President Bush's top political adviser is considering a proposal in which the US leader will pay an official visit to Libya and Sudan ahead of the presidential elections to be held later this year.
According to the Wednesday edition of the Saudi daily al-Watan, such a visit would highlight the "success" of the Republican administration in solving Mid-East disputes by peaceful means and not by using force.
According to the report, the visit to these two African states will stress that the Iraq war was not an "isolated" military act, but part of an effort to "encourage diplomatic solutions to regional tensions."
It should be mentioned that Sudan and Libya are both included in the US State Department's list of countries "sponsoring terrorism". (Albawaba.com)
