Increased security has been implemented at the house of Yasser Arafat's deputy Abu Mazan (Mahmoud Abbas) after apparently receiving threats on his life, the Al Quds Al Arab newspaper reported Thursday.

The London based daily said that Abu Mazen had been threatened by Palestinian factions for holding talks on the possibility of finding a different Palestinian leadership and having himself appointed as prime minister.

Another former Palestinian minister, Nabil Amr said he also received threats from the armed wing of Fatah and had shots fired at his house by masked men for proposing changes in the authority. (Albawaba.com)
