The Dubai-based Regal Traders intends to establish its presence in Bahrain and Kuwait this year, Khaleej Times reported, quoting a Raju Shroff, managing director of Regal as saying that the textile group will open its outlets in Kuwait and Bahrain sometime this year to retail its various brands.

According to Haresh Mehta, chairman of S & Y Mills, Special Editions will be promoted in a big way supported by a multimedia publicity blitz in the Press, outdoor and the electronic media. He said that his company has further plans to introduce soon an entire range of men's casual wear in the UAE, said the daily.

Established in 1952 under the name 'Regal Traders', the company grew to become the flagship division of the Regal Group of Companies. It sought “to source and supply textiles to the emerging countries in the Gulf,” according to the company’s website.

Started by the Shroff family, the Regal Group of Companies diversified into other areas of growth. Moving with the times, the Group identified key businesses with substantial growth potential such as satellite/media communications (Rajkamal Communications), Gold/Jewellery (Regal Jewellers), and ice cream manufacturing (Kwality Middle East). Over a period of years, each of these businesses has grown to become significant part of the Regal Group of Companies, according to the company’s profile -- Albawaba.com
