Raya, one of the largest IT and Telecommunications companies in the Middle East, has announced its partnership with Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), Kuwait, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa The partnership aims to automate MTC's workflow systems including human resources, finance and sales procedures, in addition to creating intranet portals. MTC’s decision to opt for this level of automation is in line with the company’s efforts to adopt the latest advancements in technology and leverage the IT boom in the region. For Raya, this is one of the biggest projects they have undertaken in the GCC region.

This partnership with MTC underlines Raya’s strong regional presence, where it has been involved in several major IT implementation projects in recent months. Raya has been successful in implementing state-of-the-art IT solutions to meet its growing customer demands in various sectors through its strategic partnerships with many leading IT manufacturers. MTC will look to leverage Raya’s thorough understanding of the local IT market requirements and its experience in delivering high quality services to companies operating in this market.

Prior to this implementation, MTC had been using multiple systems to carry out its administrative and financial operations. The lack of an integrated system meant that the human resources staff had to overcome several hurdles to efficiently perform their functions. This further led to a delay in various operations and an increase in management costs, in an organisation that employs over 2000 employees. These factors prompted MTC to develop an automated workflow system to enhance its services to a customer base of over 10.6 billion in the region.

“Raya’s vast experience and expertise facilitated a smooth shift to a new highly advanced IT system that has substantially reduced management costs, reduced the time taken for various processes and improved our overall performance,” said Saleh Al Hooti, Director of the IT Department, MTC. “This project enabled us to increase the efficiency of our human resources personnel by eliminating routine tasks and focussing on functions that will help realise the company’s strategic plans.”

Ashraf Sabry, Vice Chairman for IT, Raya, said, “The non-central documentation system that was being used in MTC was one of the most important challenges that we faced during the implementation of the project. From our past experience in implementing IT solutions in the telecommunication sector we precisely knew the requirement for MTC and implemented an integrated system of international standards that is fully catered to their needs. We were also successful in ensuring the smooth transfer of data from the old system and we are certain that this project will result in a major boost in MTC’s performance.”
