Rasasi, the UAE based perfume manufacturer and retailer will significantly strengthen its retail presence in the GCC with an addition of 40 new stores, taking the total number of its stores to 100 over the next 16 months.
Announcing the planned expansion, Saleem Kalsekar, Managing Director of the company said: “Over the years, we have invested significant resources in the brand and the business and the retail expansion will strengthen our reach to the customer in an environment where our brand values get communicated effectively and with full force. The coming years are going to be exciting for us as we accelerate both our growth, volumes as well as our delivery channels.” The retail expansion will give the brand a growth of 20-25% per annum, against an industry growth rate of 10%.
Established in 1979, the Jebel Ali based company currently operates a chain of 60 company owned stores and exports products to more than 50 countries. The company’s products are also retailed at over 1000 outlets across the GCC.
The proposed expansion is expected to cost the company between 40 and 50 million dirhams, funded from the company’s cash reserves. Currently, company’s products are retailed through a combination of more than 60 exclusive company owned showrooms and over 1000 partner outlets across the Middle East. Over the next few years the brand shall see a wider reach in the Gulf region. The company has a 30-35% share of the oriental fragrance segment in the GCC and produces 90,000 units of various products everyday. The company has over 300 products for various markets.
Rasasi has also leased a 29,000 square meter plot of land, also at Jebel Al Free Zone to supplement its existing production facility with a second production line.
