ALBAWABA - The Qatari Embassy in Cairo said that three employees of the Amiri Diwan were killed in a car crash near Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, adding that two others were injured.
In a post on X on Sunday, the embassy expressed "its deep sorrow over the death of three members of the Amiri Diwan and is following up on the condition of those injured in a traffic accident in Sharm El-Sheikh."
Earlier, two security sources revealed that a car carrying Qatari diplomats overturned on a curve on the road 50 kilometers from Sharm el-Sheikh.
The embassy said that it "immediately began following up on the incident with the relevant Egyptian authorities." It said the deceased and injured will be transported to the Qatari capital of Doha on a plane today, where the two injured are currently receiving the necessary medical care at Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital."

Qatar reveals names of 3 diplomats killed in car crash in Egypt
The Qatari embassy in Egypt revealed, early Sunday morning, the names of the diplomats killed in the traffic accident on the Sharm el-Sheikh road on Saturday evening, including a sheikh from the ruling Al Thani family, in a statement posted on its official page.
It confirmed that the three people killed are:
- Saud bin Thamer Al Thani
- Abdullah Ghanem Al Khayarin
- Hassan Jaber Al Jaber
The Qatari Embassy in Cairo also revealed the names of two who were injured in the car accident: Abdallah Issa Al Kwari and Mohammed Abdulaziz Albuainain.
