Qatar Airlines will soon allow 10kg of free baggage to infants who pay 10 percent of the total airfare, The Gulf Times reported Sunday.
Industry sources at the airlines were quoted by the paper as saying that the move follows an amendment to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) baggage rules.
Though the rules were amended on April 1st, several airline managers in Doha were still ignorant of them, it added.
According to the new rules, besides the 10kg allowance, the infants will also be allowed to check in or carry a fully collapsible stroller/pushchair or infant carrying basket "necessary for the care of the infant on board, provided it is within the airline's baggage limits per person,” said the daily – Albawaba.com
