The emergency state in the United States and the world after last week’s terrorist attacks on the US have made no changes to a schedule visit by the Emir of Qatar to Washington early October.
According to an official report, cited in the local press, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, “will pay an official visit to the United States in October first week,” the Emiri Diwan announced Monday.
During the visit, starting from October 2 to 5, Sheikh Hamad will meet with US President George Bush and other senior US officials, said the statement.
The Emiri Diwan said President Bush will receive the emir on October 4 “to discuss several bilateral and regional issues, including efforts aiming at deepening co-operation to serve peace and stability in the Middle East region.” – Albawaba.com
