Qantara, the magazine of the Arab and Mediterranean cultures, published by the Arab Institute in Paris, devoted its 2004-2005 winter volume to the history of Thousand and One Nights. <i>La Presse</i> reports that this Quantara’s edition covers topics such as Thousand and One Nights in the Arab tradition and Antoine Galland, who presented Thousand and One Nights to the European readers with his translation, published in France in twelve volumes between 1704 and 1717.
"No literary work, in the whole world, and through the centuries, has attracted more attention than Thousand and One Nights. It combines myths and beliefs. The desires expressed in Thousand and One Nights are beyond the boundaries of imaginary,” said Jameleddine Ben Cheïkh in his article entitled “the Impossible Dream” in Qantara.
