Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak discussed the Middle East peace process Monday in a telephone conversation, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported.
The two presidents agreed that the Israeli-Palestinian crisis must be resolved and that the two sides should reach a mutually acceptable settlement as soon as possible, Putin's press service said.
Mubarak also confirmed his earlier invitation for Putin to visit Egypt, which Putin accepted "with gratitude". No exact date had been set as yet, the press service said.
