PRO TECHnology, the leading integrator of broadcast storage, high availability solutions and the largest Apple reseller in the Middle East, has announced the availability of Electronic News Production System (ENPS), the world’s most popular broadcast news production system. ENPS comes as a significant addition to PRO TECHnology’s extensive portfolio of advanced broadcast and production solutions.

ENPS is a software application developed by the Broadcast Technology division of Associated Press (AP) for producing, editing, timing, organizing, and running news broadcasts. ENPS fits the needs of demanding news environments by including powerful, easy-to-use features to give journalists the tools to focus on their craft and let the technology run in the background. The system is scalable and flexible enough to handle anything from the local news at a small-market station to large organizations spanning remote bureaus in multiple countries.

“ENPS is the most popular broadcast news production system in the world, being used by journalists in more than 650 radio and television newsrooms in 42 countries,” said Emad Shawqi, General Manager, PRO TECHnology. “With Dubai and several other cities in the Middle East witnessing a proliferation of TV and radio stations, we believe this is just the right time to introduce this state-of-the-art application to the region. ENPS is capable not only of streamlining production tasks and meeting the demands of 24/7 TV and radio stations, which are constantly running against the clock, it could actually serve as the much-needed tool that allows the regional broadcast media to achieve world-class news production standards.”

"We are looking forward to working with PRO TECHnology because we have been very impressed with their reputation and track record in the Gulf region,” said Eric Bowman, Director of International Business Development for AP ENPS. “We believe there is a natural affinity between our two companies, which we feel will allow us to provide an unrivalled quality of services to broadcasters in the region."

ENPS incorporates significant features that allow radio and TV stations to simplify operational procedures and gain greater control over various production aspects. These include drag-and-drop customizable interface, web authoring and publishing system, prompter software, complete off-line and remote access capabilities, and detailed online and CD-based customized training modules. Its exclusive “briefing” function allows journalists to retrieve content from all areas of the system with a single search. ENPS supports more than 60 languages, allowing the use of multiple languages in a single system, and also helps integrate and control external media systems through the MOS (Media Object Server) protocol.

“PRO TECHnology has always taken the lead in bringing innovative technologies and solutions to the Middle East, and we underscore our commitment to the regional market with the launch of ENPS. As we look to further build our growing customer base, our efforts will continue to be focused on providing our customers with technology solutions that positively transform their businesses,” Shawqi said.

Through its strategic tie-ups with leading international brands, PRO TECHnology offers a selection of broadcast and production solutions designed to help the region’s broadcasters manage the transition to new digital formats.
