Lebanese President Emile Lahoud praised on Monday his country's ties with France and which became even firmer by lapse of time.
In a statement released by his media office Monday after meeting French polytechnic institute students team, Lahoud praised stances of the French republic as member of the European Union and its call for making just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
He hoped that the EU would soon launch an initiative in this regard due to its neutral position via-a-vis parties to the conflict. He underlined France’s support for his country during difficult times and in various spheres. (Albawaba.com)
