Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad restated, during a visit to Al-Hassakah Sunday that “Syria has never known the word submissiveness in all of its history”.

During what has been described as an “emotional meeting” with thousands of Syrians Sunday, the Syrian leader addressed his citizens saying “As you all know, the regional and international circumstances are difficult and hard. The circumstances have been, however, so, for decades,” and added that it was “prohibited nowadays for any people in the world to have dignity”, the Syrian Arab news agency reported.

“Syria's more than 10 thousand years has never known the word of submissiveness” the President conveyed, and asserted his country’s “declared, and firm stance, derived from the masses” and that pressure would never make us “shrink”, on the contrary, it would make the Syrians “grow”. (Albawaba.com)
