The Organising Committee of Dubai 2003 held a meeting under the chairmanship of Dr Qasim Sultan, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, to review preparations for the 58th Annual Meeting of Boards of Governors of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), due to be held in September 2003 in Dubai.
Ibrahim Belselah, Chief Co-ordinator of Dubai 2003, introduced a report on his Washington visit and his meetings with senior officials of both the World Bank and IMF, according to a reports in the UAE's dailies. He said the officials of World Bank and IMF expressed appreciation for Dubai's preparations for the event to be held next year. They also praised the UAE government and the people of the country for the support for the event, he was quoted as saying by WAM. (Albawaba.com)
