The US secretary of state, Colin Powell, met in Rabat on Saturday a group of young Moroccans, aged 9 to 18, who have benefited from various cultural cooperation projects established by American NGOs, according to the Moroccan newspaper, Le Matin.

Powell led a question and answer session which included details about the minister's family, university life and interests. Powell spoke about being from an immigrant family and facing financial difficulties. Of particular interest to the youths, Powell spoke about his international award, from the late king of Morocco, Hassan II in July 1990, when Powell was chief of staff of the army and was decorated with the Wissam Alaouite award.
