One police officer was shot dead and another wounded by members of an armed group in Algiers on Monday, security officials said.
The two officers on traffic duty on Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, near the People's Palace, were gunned down by machine gun fire by armed Islamists.
Witnesses told AFP news agency the two were shot by two young assailants who were on foot and wearing jeans. (Albawaba.com)
