Messe Frankfurt, one of the world’s largest organisers of trade fairs, hosted over 75 guests to a reception held in Abu Dhabi this week. Members of the capital’s diplomatic corp and senior officials from the public and private sectors attended. The event included a presentation on Intersec, the Middle East region’s largest security exhibition and conference,  set for 21 – 23 January 2007 at Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Hosted by Mr Chris Hudson, Exhibitions Director for Messe Frankfurt, and Mrs Imke Cochran, Exhibition Manager of Intersec, plans were revealed covering the key areas addressed by the event. The exhibition and conference will incorporate four specialised sections; Commercial Security, Police and Homeland Security, Fire and Safety and Health.
Mrs Cochran explained that Intersec ’07 will grow by at least 40% compared to this year’s show, reflecting the ever increasing needs of the region for security, fire prevention and safety solutions. “We expect to present more than 600 exhibitors from 40 countries at Intersec along with a comprehensive conference programme featuring some of the best experts from around the world and around the region,” said Mrs Cochran.
Presently these include Sir Ken Knight, Commissioner, London Fire Brigade; Ms Lisa Fowlie, the International President of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health;  Chief Superintendent Jamie Stephen,  Head of the Diplomatic Protection Group, Metropolitan Police,  and Alan Matthews, International Director of the United Kingdom’s Forensic Science Service. The keynote speaker on the opening day will be HE Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief, Dubai Police.
