The Saudi newspaper Al Watan reported that plague hit a large number of poultry in Lebanon only a few days after the discovery of suspected cases of foot-and-mouth disease among cattle.
The newspaper reported Thursday that more than 3,000 birds have been infected. It added that these birds had been found dead in the southern Lebanese town of Shagra and after inspection, it was found that the birds were hit by the contagious disease . Accordingly, 2000 birds were burnt in a farm near the southern Lebanese town of Tibnin -- Albawaba.com
