The third edition of the annual Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Exhibition & Conference (PABME) will open tomorrow, 23 May, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, UAE. In an effort to highlight the burgeoning pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry in the Middle East, which according to recent growth trends will touch US$ 7.6 billion by 2014 and grow to US$ 9.6 billion by 2019, PABME 2010 will offer pharmaceutical and biotechnology scientists and practitioners from around the world the opportunity to interact, network and exchange ideas and bring themselves and their organisation to the forefront of the discipline.

This year's international showcase will feature exhibitors from 22 countries with national pavilions from Egypt, Iran, China and Germany.

PABME is organised by IIR Middle East Life Sciences Division and is the region's only event that is being formatted as a major exhibition with a multi-disciplinary conference running alongside, which will tackle global and regional issues such as pharmaceutical registration, facilities design, upgrade and expansion, emerging technologies, marketing, clinical trials and current affairs.

The congress programme will feature two 'free-to-attend' conferences; Current Trends in Modern Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology and Complementary & Alternative Medicine, and Best Practice in Pharma & Bio including an Introduction to Pharmacovigilance along with the launch of two new accredited training workshops; ClinTec Academy for Clinical Research Excellence (ACRE) Workshop and Basic Medication Safety (BMS) Certification Course.

Dr Marco Baccanti, Executive Director, DuBiotech, comments on PABME 2010:

"As a strategic partner to this important international exhibition and conference for the industry in the region, we are confident the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Middle East 2010 (PABME) exhibition will serve as a crucial platform for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology scientists and practitioners from around the world to share their expertise and showcase the latest technology.

"All pharmaceutical companies interested in the Middle East market are present at PABME, so DuBiotech is there to make them aware of the benefits of its free zone, of the strong critical mass of its cluster of 70 life sciences companies already registered, as well as the added value services offered by its role as the central hub of the cluster."

The three-day PABME Exhibition will run from 23 to 25 May, 2010 from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm (Tuesday May 25, 10.00am to 5.00pm only). Trade visitors have unlimited access to the exhibition, and may register their participation any time during the event.
