Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres has strongly criticized his Finnish counterpart because the latter had compared in a press interview Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians with the Nazis' treatment of the Jews in Germany during the Nazi era, reported the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
In a statement to the Israeli radio picked Thursday night, Peres described the Finnish minister as ignorant.
Peres alleged that the Finnish minister's statements were shocking and astonishing to the Jews, Israelis and “to every enlightened person in the world.”
