Israeli troops near the West Bank city of Nablus opened fire Thursday morning on two Palestinians, killing one of them and seriously wounding another. Israeli sources claimed soldiers opened fired on the two in the Balata refugee camp when they tried to approach Jewish worshippers.

Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades vowed to avenge the killing.

Shortly before midnight, an innocent Palestinian teenager was critically wounded by Israeli fire.

Meanwhile, the PA president, Mahmoud Abbas, arrived Wednesday in the Syrian capital, Damascus, for talks with the Syrian officials. Abbas is also scheduled to meet Palestinian factions' leaders residing in Syria to discuss with them the steps necessary to rearrange the Palestinian home.

Abu Mazen would fly Thursday to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on an official visit during which he is set to meet Lebanese president, Emile Lahud, and the Palestinian refugees' and factions' representatives based in that Arab country.
