Palestinian boy dead as G8 pledges support to PA economy

A 17-year-old Oalestinian on Friday was shot dead by Israeli guards securing construction work on the West Bank wall. The incident took place to the west of the city of Ramallah as the boy, identified as Muhib Ahmad Assi, was participating in a march against the wall. Earlier, four Israeli troops were wounded from a blast in the Gaza Strip.  

 

Meanwhile, the Group of Eight (G8) has pledged to provide the Palestinian Authority with up to three billion dollars in the next few years to boost Middle East peace prospects. "The G8... agreed a substantial package of help for the Palestinian Authority, amounting to up to three billion dollars in the years to come ... so that two states, Israel and Palestine, two peoples and two religions can live side by side in peace," British Prime Minister , Tony Blair said at the end of a three-day summit in Scotland on Friday.
