Iran’s President Mohammad Khatami received Tuesday in Tehran a message from Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. The message was delivered to him by Pakistan's Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Attaur Rehman, who is currently visiting Iran.
An official announcement in Islamabad said earlier Tuesday that the Pakistani minister reviewed with the Iranian president the prospects of establishing a pan-Islamic Fund for research and development activities in the Muslim world, according to the Saudi Press Agency. It added that Khatami appreciated Pakistan's initiative and called for "scientific cooperation among Muslim countries and common utilization of their facilities in order to ensure rapid development of (the Muslim world)."
