Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the leader of the Pakistani military regime, General Pervez Musharraf, Sunday condemned "Israeli aggression" against the Palestinians.
The joint position was reported by the official SANA news agency after a meeting between the two leaders in Damascus.
The agency added that the two leaders wanted to boost bilateral links "in all areas ... economic, commercial and scientific."
During a dinner in Musharraf's honour, Assad praised Pakistan for "refusing to recognize Israel or having relations with it to the detriment of the Arab cause." -- DAMASCUS (AFP)
