According to BNA, Pakistan decided to deploy another 4,000 soldiers on its borders with Afghanistan to boost security and halt the infiltration before holding the local, Afghani legislative elections next September.
CNN Quoted Head of Pakistani border forces General Safdar Hussain saying that Islamabad built 731 check points and deployed 70,000 soldiers on its borders in contrary to 75 check points and 33,000 soldiers on the Afghani side. Hussain refused accusations by Afghan and US officials regarding infiltration through Afghan borders saying that it this can be restricted but not halt. He said that his country's has evidences that drugs and bombs are being smuggled from Afghanistan to Pakistan , urging the Afghani side for further control at the borders.
