Omani Private Sector Signs $3.8m Worth Exports Contracts to Iraq

Contracts worth $3.8 million to export Omani products to Iraq have been secured by Omani private businesses, according to Omani news agency (ONA), citing a leading businessman. 

Jamil bin Ali Sultan, deputy president of Oman chamber of commerce and industry told the agency that the deals fall within the context of UN sponsored oil-for- food program. 

Omani minister of trade and commerce, Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, has made a several day official visit to Iraq recently. He was accompanied by an economic delegation. 

The minister discussed promoting economic relations and exploring means and ways of increasing trade exchange. 

During the visit, the joint Omani-Iraqi Committee held its fifth meeting, which saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in trade, agriculture, general education, higher education and exchange of technical expertise – Albawaba.com
