Oman’s Index Rises at Weekend

Index of Oman’s stock exchange closed at 174.51 points at end of this week's trading, rising by 1.84 points, according to a bourse statement, cited by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).  

Volume of trading during the week amounted to 2.100.952 Omani riyals, compared to 2.082.408 during last week with the average daily trading standing at OR420.190. The traded stocks reached 1.972.593 and 1.799 bonds, compared to 1.585.385 shares and 122.504 bonds.  

Number of transactions numbered 1633, in contrast to 1282 of last week, according to the statement. 

It said the trading covered stocks of 53 registered companies. Last week's trading concentrated in the banking sector and investment companies, taking 37.7 percent of the volume of the overall dealing, followed by services, insurance and industry. (The Omani riyal equals $3.8) – Albawaba.com
