Oman’s First Pharma Firm to Launch 16 Drugs in April

National Pharmaceutical Industries Company (NPI), the Omani first pharmaceutical formulations manufacturing company, will begin production in April, according to Oman Observer. 

A V Bhalerao, General Manager of NPI was quoted by the daily as saying that the 10-million Omani ryial public limited company located in Rusayl Industrial Estate is fully geared up for the launch of 16 products. 

The pilot batches of drugs are under rigorous evaluation for certification on their efficacy under extreme weather conditions. In view of varying temperatures and weather conditions, drugs are required to withstand all atmospheric changes, the paper said.  

The plant was set up with government soft loans amounting to 5-million Omani ryial and 4.5-million Omani ryial equity. The investment cost include 3.5-million Omani ryial incurred on plant equipment – Albawaba.com
