Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Monday vowed to relentlessly hunt down Hizbullah leaders despite the truce enforced earlier in the day in the Lebanon conflict and said the war had changed the face of the Middle East.
"I know that the leaders of this organization will go underground and disseminate," Olmert said in a speech to parliament. "These people will not escape, we will continue pursuing them anywhere, all the time and we do not intend to apologize or ask anyone's permission," said Olmert.
"Israel will not accept the smallest attack on its sovereignty," stated the Israeli leader.
Olmert hailed the performance of the military. "The actions of the Israeli Defense Forces in the air, on the sea and on the ground have brought about a change in the regional strategic balance," Olmert said.
"There is no more state within a state," he said of Hizbullah.
