OFIS - the furniture, flooring and interior solutions business of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group - has announced a 50 per cent increase in sales for the first half of 2005 compared to the same period in 2004.
This year OFIS has seen a two-fold increase in its office furnishing business operations, thanks to the completion of a number of major projects in the region including the entire furnishing of Dubai International Financial Centre, Commercial Bank of Dubai, and offices in Dubai of Nokia, Al Futtaim, Shell Marketing and RAK Bank.
“Rapid real estate and commercial developments have resulted in the steady growth of the office furniture market, which is now worth approximately AED1 billion a year in the UAE,” said Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group.
“Consolidating all our furniture brands under the OFIS umbrella this year allowed us to streamline operations, and take better advantage of the promising market conditions now emerging. We’re delighted with the strides our business is making, and the international brands in our portfolio are playing a huge role.”
Among the best-selling OFIS furniture brands in the first half of this year were Singapore-based Benel, a leading manufacturer for office chairs; Della Valentina from Italy, known for its office systems, free-standing desks and storage ideas; and Unifor, well known for its desks, conference tables and cleverly designed partitions. The new laminated and pre-finished wooden floor brand Parador from Germany, has also started making its presence felt in a number of projects.
“Our mission is to bring to the market a host of products that will enable customers to make their ideal office environment a reality. Our half year sales are a good sign that we will achieve our target of 25 per cent annual growth over the next five years,” concluded Dayal.
