Official: Inflation Decreases by 25 percent in Khatami\'s Administration

Inflation in Iran has decreased twenty-five percent since President Mohammed Khatami assumed power in 1998, governor-general, Hassan Younes Sinki, was quoted as saying by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA). 

He stated that a considerable part of the government's debts to banks and social security organization were repaid as a result of the obvious drop in inflation. 

Despite great breakthroughs by the Khatami government in the domestic and external arenas, some are trying to subvert the public opinion and hide the economic progress made by the Khatami administration, he remarked -- Albawaba.com
