The Chairman of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Investments (CCI), Ali Habour has deplored the "very low" level of economic relations between Libya and Algeria, describing the volume of trade between the two countries as "shameful," Panafrican News Agency reported.

Habour was quoted last week by the agency as saying that "the trade volume was less than two million US dollars, pointing out that "one should not even talk about volume when one knows that the exchanges between each of the two countries and the rest of the world, put together, exceed 15 billion dollars."

The Algerian economic delegation to Tripoli, comprising about 50 representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as Directors in the country's Trade Ministry and representatives of the private sector, is expected to examine ways of strengthening economic relations and co-operation between Algiers and Tripoli -- Albawaba.com
