Nobel peace laureate Betty Williams paid a short visit to Baghdad on Tuesday where she met with Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz, according to the Iraq News Agency.
Williams, a Northern Ireland native who resettled in the United States, said she came to express her solidarity with the people of Iraq ahead of a possible war.
She toured a children's hospital and criticized the UN trade sanctions on Iraq and their toll on the country's civilian population. (Albawaba.com)
