A selected group of distinguished engineering students from Kuwait University met with Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in Tokyo, Japan.

The trip was an opportunity for the students to meet the man behind Nissan's revival - Ghosn who took the helm at Nissan in 1999 and in a very short period of time turned it into one of the most profitable automakers in the world.

"We were keen to meet the man behind the miraculous strategy that revived Nissan and made us touch its Shift_ globally and regionally in the Middle East," commented one of the students.

Ghosn discussed with the students his business ethics and strategy, based on his acclaimed book 'SHIFT', recently translated to Arabic, which reveals Nissan's historic revival and how it was achieved. The students visited the Nissan headquarters in Tokyo where they had the opportunity to witness first hand how day-to-day operations were run.

"Nissan's revival has been the subject of many business studies and best practices globally" commented Monal Zeidan, Senior Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications Departments at Nissan Middle East. "The students from Kuwait University were able to discuss with Mr. Ghosn his revival plan and business strategy for Nissan, which will surely give them valuable insights into the business world."

Nissan is a global automotive company with 140,000 employees and $80 billion in revenue. Ghosn joined the company as its chief operating officer in June 1999, became its president in June 2000 and was named chief executive officer in June 2001.
