Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. (NISMO) recently announced their global Motorsports activities for 2006.

Nissan will compete in the GT 500 class with five Z33 Fairlady Z (350Z) cars through four teams – NISMO, Hasemi Motor Sport, Team Impul and newcomer Kondo Racing. NISMO will supply the four teams with technology and vehicle development. The top priorities in Fairlady Z development for 2006 will be better aerodynamic performance in turns, improved engine output, and enhanced engine response and driveability.

NISMO will also provide support for private teams through the March Cup and Nissan Racing School, which provide racing enthusiasts with an introduction to pro racing, including building driving skills, track etiquette and car maintenance. Support will also be provided through the Super GT 300 class, the Super Endurance Series and the Formula Challenge Japan, all using Nissan 350Z’s. NISMO’s support will also reach overseas, covering the China Circuit Championship (CCC), the Absa Off Road Car Championship in South Africa and Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) in the United States.
