Tanganyika Oil Company (Company) said it will not be using a Gharib Rig Services rig as recently announced for the planned three-well exploration program on the Company's West Gharib Block in Egypt.

In an official statement, the company said it will instead contract an Egyptian Chinese Drilling Company (ECDC) rig as originally planned.

The rig the Company is negotiating for is a "hot" rig, which means that it was recently used in the area and the crew are familiar with operating the rig and drilling our targeted reservoirs.

All eight producing wells on the Hana Field were drilled using an ECDC rig. The ECDC rig is expected to be available in December or January as a result of high demand for drilling equipment in the country, said the press release – Albawaba.com
